Displate has agreed to a $2.7 million class action settlement to resolve allegations it falsely advertised discounts on its metal posters and related products.
Plaintiffs claim the company used deceptive marketing by offering “discounted” prices that were not actually reduced from a true regular price. Instead, the lawsuit says, the promoted discounts misrepresented the product’s value and misled shoppers into believing they were getting a better deal than they were.
The case targeted consumers in three states—California, Oregon, and Washington—who purchased Displate items online during the specified period. According to the lawsuit, these regional sales tactics violated state consumer protection laws by advertising sales that didn’t exist.
Displate denies wrongdoing but agreed to settle the lawsuit to avoid further litigation.
Eligible consumers will receive an $18 settlement benefit in one of two forms:
Cash payment for those who file a claim by July 22, 2025
Store credit for those who do not file a claim form (automatically issued)
Consumers do not need to submit a receipt or other documentation to receive the benefit.
